Stories from the Evacuation (short film)

A short film commissioned by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art for the 2012 SECA award.

Shot on location at SFMOMA over the spring and early summer of 2013, the 20 min. film begins as the museum prepares to close its doors for 2 and a half years and undergo an extensive renovation.  Over 25,000 art works and 100 employees were moved to temporary locations around the Bay Area.  Most of my previous work has been about exposing the structure of the narrative, but in this situation I was interested in taking my starting point with exposing the structure of the museum and letting the narrative unravel from there.

The film was co-written with Jennifer Stuckert and produced with Max Fink and Brad Boyer. The director of photography was Shawn Michienzi and the editor was Greg Janza.  The film  features an original score by Silas Hite and sound design by Jeremiah Moore.
