performance in the guise of a presentation: 2009
Unreliable Narrator is a performance in the guise of a presentation. I performed it on April 5, 2005 at Gudrun’s Salon in Copenhagen, Denmark as part of the series of artist talks and performances organized by Gudrun Hasle.
The presentation is about a drawing titled “unreliable narrator.” The viewers see only a blank screen, a projector and a lab top. The performer sets out to apologize for the lack of materials and decides to explain why the drawing isn’t there. What follows is a explanation that lapses into moments of drama, lust and yearning as the presenter becomes confused about the information he is presenting and eventually, slowly, becomes one of the characters in the story he is telling.
